Jonathan came to our school during Respect for All Week 2019, specifically on Respect for Self day. He had students interact with an activity first and proceeded to speak about his life story. As soon as he spoke, students visibly straightened up, cell phones away, listening to his words and watching the power point. This is a true speaker, someone that can capture an audience and relate to them. After each session, Jonathan was approached by students and teachers, eager to speak to him further and thanked repeatedly for his openness and generosity of sharing his stories and experiences. When I first reached out to Jonathan, I knew he was the best choice. His passion, friendly demeanor, and excitement to speak to my students was encompassing. I hope to work with him again!

Jonathan is an amazing and inspiring individual. Back in June 2016, Jonathan was invited as a keynote speaker for the New York College Advising Corps decision day event at NYU. As he shared his story I stared in awe, holding back tears from not only how powerful his story was, but how he was able to so eloquently share his experiences. The following year I invited him to speak with the students at Bronx International High School and once again he did not disappoint! Students instantly gravitated towards him and really listened to what he had to share. Jonathan is truly passionate about the work that he does and I believe that this is reflective on the impact he is making. I am honored to have him as a colleague and know he will continue to inspire the youth and us all!
